*Under the “Project DISHA ( Direction)” of Pragati Foundation and courtesy of B4U, solar panels and clean drinking water system were installed in the schools of remote areas of Raigad District.*
In Sudhagad taluka of Raigad district, many schools do not have electricity and school children do not have access to clean drinking water, which is very disturbing. Through the efforts of Pragati Foundation Mumbai (Reg.) and with the help of B4U channel, four Zilla Parishad schools in Sudhagad taluka were selected under project “Disha” and solar panels were installed there to maintain uninterrupted power supply.
Also RO + UV filter water supply system has been installed to provide clean drinking water to the students.
The four schools in Sudhagad taluka are School Madhali, School Talai, School Burmali and School Medhe Adivasiwadi.
On 28th April, 2022 at 11 am at School Madhali Adivasi Wadi, Shri Dilip Rayannavar, Tehsildar of Pali Sudhagad and Dr. Kiran Rane inaugurated the solar panel system and RO + UV filter water system.
The students of the school welcomed the guests by singing Shri Ganesh Vandana and presenting dance skills.
Pragati Foundation President Dr. Kiran Rane laid a wreath at the image of Goddess Saraswati and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Shri Balaji Rathod, presented the preface of the program. He also expressed his views on the issues facing the tribal areas. Apart from this, Mr. Rathod informed about the activities started in Sudhagad taluka for many years through Pragati Foundation.
Many social educational and health related programs have been successfully completed in the last four-five years in Sudhagad taluka through Pragati Foundation.
These include providing computer sets to schools, setting up digital labs, distributing books to schools for libraries, distributing free textbooks, books, pencils, water bottles, notebooks and educational materials to students, organizing health camps and distributing free food grains to those in need during Corona. Various other activities were involved.
Under “Project DISHA (Direction)”, clean drinking water, uninterrupted electricity for study and other educational services are being provided to motivate children in remote areas to get a high quality education.
Tehsildar Mr. Dilip Rayannavar lauded both Pragati Foundation and B4U for their social work.
He expressed satisfaction that the schools in the tribal areas really need help and that the need is being met.
The B4U channel, along with the Pragati Foundation, has been instrumental in bringing “Project DISHA (Direction)”. This statement was made by Dr. Kiran Rane. He also assured that similar projects would be implemented in future also.
Local Sarpanch Saduram Sajekar, Social Worker Shri Shirish Sakpal, Sudhagad Tribal Taluka President Chandrakant Waghmare and Professor Shri Santosh Bhoir expressed their views and thanked B4U and Pragati Foundation.
The program at Madhali was attended by students, parents and villagers from 4 schools namely Rajip School Talai School Madhali Tribal Wadi School Bhavshet School Burmali.
Shiloshi Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Saduram Sajekar Sudhagad Tribal Taluka President Shri Chandrakant Waghmare, School Headmasters Shri Navneet Mhatre and Roshan Waghmare, Social Worker Shri Shirish Sakpal, Paliwala College Professor Shri Santosh Bhoir at Pali, Pragati Foundation’s Rakesh Wani, Rajip School Bhavshet teacher Arun Kale Sir, Rupa Pampatwar etc. were present on the occasion.
