Pragatee Foundation, Shri Hariharputra Bhajan Samaj, Sankalp Group, and Astrid Foundation came together with the goal of development of tribal children and celebrated Diwali with tribal children. The Pada of Borivali known as a Kamacha pada, which is just a stone’s throw away from Mumbai, is known as a tribal pada. Life here is complete dark. Not many amenities are available. All these said organizations have worked together to bring the true light of Diwali in life of adivasi children. Pranay Dhamal, Coordinator, Pragati Foundation, contacted the local organization “Me Adivasi Group” and organized the event. Activities like playing Diwali firecrackers with tribal children, making beautiful rangoli from tribal children etc. were done. In addition, Diwali Farals, Diwali Lanterns, Diwali lights (Diyas) were distributed to the tribal children and towels, soap, notebooks, pencils, water bottles etc. were distributed to the tribal children. The smiles and joys on the faces of these children from the tribal areas made it clear that a truly meaningful Diwali is one in which we can bring joy into the lives of others and brighten their lives. . .
Hats off to all members, supporters, volunteers and sponsors of all four organizations.
