A health check-up camp was organized by Pragatee Foundation and Vimal Foundation at Gaon Devi Samaj Mandir Hall, Juipada Village, Juinagar, Navi Mumbai on 15th August 2018 in collaboration with ITM Institute of Health Sciences, New Millenium Multiplicity Hospital, Anvishka Blood Bank and Swarashi Netralay; wherein about 400 local community people and Senior citizen were medically examined. People who were identified as High-Risk group of patients during the Medical Examinations routinely conducted at the Hospital were examined.

The camp was inaugurated by Hon. MLA Mr. Sanjeev Ganesh Naik. The facility was established to check random blood sugar, RBC, CBC, BMD, BMI, ECG and conduct nerve conduction tests. X-Ray, 2D Echo and Sonography tests were also made available at a special discounted rate. Free Health Check-up, Blood Group Check-up, Eye Test, Specs distribution and Dental Check-up were made available to all beneficiaries. Cardiologists, Orthopaedics, and Endocrinologists were present during the check-up camp.

Special focus was laid on obesity, diabetes & dietary habits. During the camp, a health talk was delivered by doctors from New Millennium Hospital and Swarshi Hospital respectively. They emphasized regular check-ups and counseling during their follow-up examination and also stressed upon the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The organizer conveyed that these camps were being organized regularly in various parts of Navi Mumbai which have vastly benefited the Health profile of Navi Mumbaikar and their families. All Medical Officers from associate partners also participated. The intervention by this camp shall improve the Health Profile of the local community.

Free eye check-up camp was organized in association with Swarashi Netralaya and ITM Optometry Group at the camp. Expert Ophthalmologists and Optometrists examined around 270 patients while 42 were referred for eye surgery. The organizer also distributed free spectacles to the visitors/patients in the camp. The organizers also arranged 50 cataract surgeries for the patients.

The Blood donation camp was organized in association with the Anvishka Blood Bank. Several enthusiastic participants including employees, students, volunteers, institutes and their teams and the residents of the Navi Mumbai, participated in this noble cause. The blood donation Camp was a tribute to our National Heroes on the occasion of India’s 72nd Independence Day. The program lasted the whole day with full enthusiasm. Every donor had to pass through the preliminary medical tests like BP, Hb, weight, etc. before they could donate their blood. The donors were offered a rotary Anvishka blood donation card and donor Certificate for future use. Speaking on this occasion, President Mr. Kiran Rane said Blood donation is a noble cause and every blood donor has contributed towards community development. We have a philosophy of giving back to society and this is a very genuine way of adding a little bit towards the development of society. We would like to appreciate the enthusiasm of our youth and residents who participated in this noble cause wholeheartedly. We will continue to associate ourselves with such initiatives in the near future.
